Today our Mystery Reader was Corteous Colton's mom, Mrs. Booth. She read us the book
There Was An Old Lady Who Swallowed A Bat. It was so funny! It was a rhyming book. The lady swallowed many unusual Halloween things. Mrs. Booth also brought foam Halloween shapes (bats, pumkins, skeletons, etc). The students drew their own old lady on paper then stuck on the foam shapes of what she swallowed. The drawings were adorable! As they were making them they were orally coming up with rhyming sentences having to do with what their old lady swallowed. "There was an old lady that swallowed a spider and the cat that was sitting beside her.", said Cole. "There was an old lady that swallowed a bat. Can you believe that!", said Ethan. There were many more great rhymes. Thanks for the great idea Mrs. Booth. We loved the story & activity!!
