A Peek At Our Week August 25-29
O-si-o! This is going to be a short but busy week for us. During language arts & reading we will sort words, recite poetry, discuss complete & incomplete sentences, & begin lexicons (breaking down words many ways…by syllables, vowels, consonants, definition of the word, ect.) During math we’ll focus on ways to make the number 6 (2+4, 7-1, etc.), continue leveled addition, & graphing. Don’t be alarmed if you’re not seeing a lot of paper work coming home. We do a lot of “hands on” activities. The students use individual dry erase boards daily during math & language arts. The students also write daily in their personal (spiral notebook) journals during writer’s workshop. In addition we will travel to NSU on a field trip - Thursday, get to know our "Star of the Week" Exceptional Ethan, & celebrate Bright Briar's birthday. We will be out of school on Friday or Monday. Hope your family has a wonderful & safe Labor Day/Cherokee Holiday Weekend. If you have questions or concerns feel free to contact me.

Seeing The World Through Buddy Bear's Eyes
Buddy is our classroom bear. He was given to Mrs. J as a Valentine present in 1993 by a very special student Ryan Humphrey. He started going home on weekends with her student's & began traveling the world. He has been to many exciting homes & places. He has met every child that Mrs. Jones has ever taught. He has been to birthday parties, class trips, trips to different states & countries, sat on the Great Wall of China, & met Micky Mouse! He is currently 15 years old. We will be documenting his trips below.
