Our Job & Affirmation chart is located next to our Council House. The students & I use the drop shaped papers to write positive messages or compliments to each other. We have been doing this since school started. Some of the children choose to leave their drops in their clear pocket, while others like to take them home or keep them in their pencil boxes. I occasionally peek at the messages to see what they are saying to each other. I have read many great statements from "Thank you for helping me with my word sort." to "You are such a wonderful friend." I feel it is a great way for the students to let others know how they feel. This idea comes from the book
How Full Is Your Bucket by authors Tom Rath & Donald Clifton. It was my assigned summer reading from Mrs. Hathcoat. It was an easy read & once I started couldn't put it down.

Seeing The World Through Buddy Bear's Eyes
Buddy is our classroom bear. He was given to Mrs. J as a Valentine present in 1993 by a very special student Ryan Humphrey. He started going home on weekends with her student's & began traveling the world. He has been to many exciting homes & places. He has met every child that Mrs. Jones has ever taught. He has been to birthday parties, class trips, trips to different states & countries, sat on the Great Wall of China, & met Micky Mouse! He is currently 15 years old. We will be documenting his trips below.
