Read Across America with Dr. Seuss

This week we celebrated reading with a author study on Dr. Seuss. He was a very important and talented man. He lived in a light house and had served in the war. He did not have any children of his own but wrote many books for children all over the world. He was told that he did not have enough talent to be a author or illustrator. He followed his dream and became one of the most important children authors ever. His real name was Theodore Seuss Gisel. When he writes the story and does not draw the pictures he signs the stories Theo Lesig. It is his name backwards.
Mrs. Jones' good friend Melanie Bolding, a retired first grade teacher, came and read
Horton Hatches an Egg. It was so funny!
She also brought us a special snack of snow puffs. They were yummy!
These are some of the many Dr. Seuss books we have in our library.

We brought a lot of Dr. Seuss books from home to leave in our classroom library for the next two weeks. We have so many and are loving getting to read them all!
Monday: One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish - we wore red or blue today
Tuesday: Sneeches On Beaches - we dressed Hawaiian
Wednesday: Wacky Wednesday - we dressed wacky!
Thursday: Oh the Places You'll Go! - we dressed for our future careers
Friday: Cat In The Hat - we dressed like the Cat or wore a hat
